Own architecture award for Tilburg
CAST, the Center for Architecture and Urban Planning Tilburg e.o., is organizing the first edition of the Tilburg Architecture Prize on Friday, June 14. The Tilburg Architecture Prize is the new award for the best building in the municipality of Tilburg and is an initiative of the municipality of Tilburg and CAST. This edition is for projects completed or put into use between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2023. The award consists of a professional jury prize and a public prize. From February 20, anyone can submit a Tilburg project.
The award should stimulate debate in the city and create better architecture. "It is a means to celebrate what is good, but also to learn how things can be even better in the city," said alderman Bas van der Pol in the Brabants Dagblad.
In the field of architecture and spatial quality, the municipality of Tilburg has a lot to offer. Reason enough to celebrate and stimulate developments in this area. The Tilburg Architecture Award is designed to do just that. Building projects of all shapes and sizes can participate: from buildings, bridges, transformations to even landscape designs. With the award, CAST gives outstandingly designed projects a stage, but also - or especially - projects with a special social impact on the city. They therefore pay extra attention to the social and sustainable impact of the project on its surroundings and the municipality.
Architects, clients, builders, consultants, residents and the municipality of Tilburg may nominate projects. The projects must lie within the borders of the municipality of Tilburg, including the villages of Berkel-Enschot, Udenhout and Biezenmortel. Submissions can be made until April 14, 2024. More information about submitting projects can be found on the website.
All residents of the municipality of Tilburg and everyone who cares about architecture in Tilburg can vote for three favorite projects from May 16 to June 12, 2024. The Tilburg Architecture Prize will be a biennial award.
