Pizzabar Rijslust

PizzaBar Rijslust is a traveler's bar with pizzas from all over the world. You can choose from a variety of special toppings on dough that has been left to rise for 48 hours. A pizza with nachos, Jack Daniel's BBQ sauce or kimchi, it's all possible!

For a delicious pizza we are always willing to travel a bit. So Ticket to Tilburg decided to visit Martine, Rosanne and Kim, the team behind PizzaBar Rijslust, for a pizza party.

What is the specialty of your establishment?

"For us, the pizza is the main focus, the rising of the dough and the wander we have ourselves. Our travels influence the toppings of the pizzas. For example, we call some of the pizzas 'crossing borders,' literally and figuratively crossing the border. As great as our love for Italy is, we like to see more of the world and so do our pizzas. Think of the Greek Island, this pizza is topped with feta cheese, cherry tomatoes, black olive, red onion, parsley, cucumber and a container of tzatziki to dip the pizza in. Or the Holy Guacamoly, which is topped off with nachos and guacamole. That makes us very happy!"

What do people come to the pizza bar for?

"As mentioned, pizza is at the heart of our pizza bar, and the basis of a good pizza is the dough. Every pizza day starts with making the dough. After making it, the dough is given the necessary rest so that it can rise. The result is a thin crispy pizza, with toppings from all over the world. People keep coming back for that."

What is typically Tilburgian about your business? 

"You know that feeling when you've been on vacation and go home again! That you see the sign Tilburg and get that warm feeling. That is typically Tilburgian about our business. The skyline of Tilburg hangs above the door. Our poster wall is filled with travel posters and the poster of Tilburg hangs among them. With all the travel influences, you're still just a little bit at home in Tilburg."
