Farmer Guus

In picturesque Udenhout, we find Guus' farm called 'Dobbelhoeve'. For six generations, the Van Roessel family has been at the helm of this farm. Guus is proud of its rich history.

Over the years, the farm has undergone several transformations. What once began as a mixed farm with cows, pigs and chickens specialised in milk production from the 1970s onwards. "By the mid-1980s, my parents were no longer happy with the way agriculture was developing and switched to organic farming. With this, they were way ahead of their time."

Besides his 120 cows, farmer Guus also talks about all the bees, worms, reptiles and deer that live on his land. "Organic farming is often summed up to no poison and no fertiliser, but it is so much more: feed from close by, maximum space for biodiversity, treating your relations and animals with respect. I really look at farming differently from conventional farmers and have an eye for the whole ecosystem around my farm."

But what really makes Dobbelhoeve unique? According to Guus: "We have been organic for +/- 40 years and very progressive. Authentic farming in a very modern way." The farm uses modern technologies such as feeding and milking robots, but stays true to traditional, organic values. Its message to consumers is clear and powerful: "Buy from the farmer!"

The Dobbelhoeve stands for quality, tradition and a deep connection with nature. Besides the fact that Guus' milk and yoghurt taste delicious, they also tell a story. If you want to experience the delicious taste, you don't have to look far. Guus' milk and yoghurt is available under the brand 'My Milk' at various branches of Albert Heijn in Tilburg!
