LocHal

Right behind Tilburg station is an imposing building: the LocHal. This used to be used as a locomotive hall. Now it has been converted into the new living room of the city. This is where Tilburg comes together, where people learn and are inspired.

Lochal is the cultural hub of the city. A super dynamic place where learning and studying, entrepreneurship and research, meeting and conferencing, creating, innovating, exhibiting and presenting come together. Ticket to Tilburg had yet to return a book and immediately gets a little tour of the building.

What makes the LocHal unique?

"The LocHal is a former NS workshop that has been transformed into a cultural hotspot. A lot of things come together here. We have a library, but you can also take a look at the different labs. Visit one of the many activities or settle down at a workstation. In the exhibition space of Kunstloc there is always a great exhibition of talented artists on display and at Seats2meet you can organize an event or meeting. CAST shapes the conversation about the spatial quality of the built environment of Tilburg and the region. We have multiple specialties in house so!"

What do people come to the LocHal for?

"We hear that people mainly come for the atmosphere that exists in the LocHal. The building is impressive and inspiring, yet you quickly feel at home. There is always something to do or see, but you can also unwind there with a book and a good cup of coffee."

What is typically Tilburgian about the LocHal?

"You can still see the NS past in the building. Not only in the architecture, but also in the large train tables and in the flower boxes made from old wagons. In addition, the beautiful textiles hanging in the LocHal were made by the Textile Museum. In addition, the LocHal is typically Tilburg because we are there for all Tilburgers. Everyone is welcome: from grandparents with grandchild to students to businessmen. Our programming is therefore broad and touches on many topics of interest to Tilburgers. From Peerke Donders to Pink Monday: all topics are discussed here."
