Paleis-Raadhuis

Tilburg City Hall is a town hall like so many others. Functionality and openness are central, but otherwise it is not much special. What does make the headquarters of the Tilburg City Council special is the Palace-Council House that is part of the building. It is a real palace that was completed in 1849 and commissioned by none other than King Willem II. The best man never lived there: he died 22 days before its completion. In addition to palace and town hall, the building was also used for educational purposes.
