With a varied programme, children can learn a lot about water, hydropower, buoyancy, water storage, etc. But also themes such as solar and reclyclen are on the program this summer holiday.

Maartje Mutsaers, business creative manager Ontdekstation013: "Actually, we have recreated Piushaven in miniature, with a lock, Archimedes screw and water wheel. We collect rainwater in a large barrel and have constructed sedum roofs so that children can see that you can also make the city greener this way.  We ask children questions like: How do you collect rainwater? How can you ensure that it is less hot in the city during a heat wave? In this way, children, young people and their parents or teachers get to know subjects such as climate and sustainability in a playful way. But above all, there is a lot to do in our WaterSpeeltuin. Now we hope for a nice, warm summer!

Lots of outdoor fun
Children can make their own boat. Or put together a water track. You can also investigate whether you can purify water yourself with a homemade water filter. If the location is open outside, we are closed inside. But if the weather outside is too bad, Ontdekstation013 opens indoors, so children can come here from Wednesday to Sunday between 11 am and 5 pm for the entire summer holiday.

Special summer programme

There are three theme weeks this summer:

22 to 26 July: Solar, make your own solar lamp and solder leather

5 to 9 August: Water, build a boat that moves by heat and other water workshops

19 - 23 August: Recycle, build a pet bottle boat and reuse plastic bags

En Vincent's Drawing Room is open on a few Wednesday and Friday afternoons between 2 pm and 4 pm: 15 and 17 July, 5, 7, 12, 14 and 19 August. There is also a drawing teacher present to give explanations.

Terrace for adults
Because of corona, parents/guardians are unfortunately not able to participate in the games and discover this summer. There is a large terrace with catering facilities for adults (indoors and outdoors) with a play corner for the little ones (0-2yrs).

Reservations are necessary
Discover Station013 also has to deal with a maximum number of visitors per day. So book your ticket on time. Children from 4 years of age pay €8 per day. Adults and children up to 4 years of age do not have to pay an entrance fee.
