Everyone's place

The LocHal has already won many awards, including Building of the Year at the World Architecture Festival. The 'Best Library of the Netherlands' award is one that focuses more on what the Library means to the city. “We think that's so important,” says Peter Kok, director of the Midden-Brabant Library. “That is why we are so happy that the LocHal Library has been embraced by the residents from day one. Everyone comes together, from young to old. The Library has become a unique learning, working and meeting place, in an impressive industrial setting, the place fits Tilburg like a glove. People work on their own development. And we think together about how we can make the city a little better. We hope that all Tilburgers and other LocHal fans will underline their pride with one voice. ”

Professional jury

The five nominated libraries will be visited by the jury this month. They give their expert view to matters such as building and furnishing, services and products, service and customer focus. But above all they have an eye for the social and cultural functioning of the Library and the cooperation with residents and organizations.
