Program the Library LocHal

Although we don't pay much attention to sidewalk plants, they are incredibly important to us. They cool the city, make water run off faster when it rains and are good for clean air. But what do we really know about them? On Saturday October 1 and Sunday October 2, the LocHal Library is hosting workshops in which city biologist Gert Brunink will tell you why these plants are so important, what to look out for and how to recognize them. We also use special bingo cards for this that you can use not only during the workshop but also later of course. Together we will go outside on a sidewalk plant expedition and upon return we will upload all data (photos and data) into the national Sidewalk Plant Survey.

Program Natuurmuseum Brabant

Sunday, October 2: Ask us questions! On Sunday, October 2, ask all your questions about insects, pleistocene mammals, gemstones and sand to the curators of Natuurmuseum Brabant. They are ready to tell you about their specialties and above all show you a lot! Like how to determine the sex of a ladybug, what sand looks like up close and being allowed to touch a real mammoth tusk. You may also bring that one beautiful stone you brought back from vacation, that strange bone you found in the garden or a picture an insect and present it to our museum experts. And even better: children and youth (up to 17 years old) get free admission to the museum on Sunday, Oct. 2! It's not the free science festival for kids for nothing!

Program Ontdekstation013

During the weekend of October 1 & 2, Ontdekstation013 will be transformed into a discovery place for all your senses. What do your senses do and what do you need them for? Throughout the day there are different activities for which you need your senses. For example, use your eyes to make a nice movie with our green screen boxes, use your mouth to taste whether your homemade lemonade succeeded and much more! And on Sunday, October 2, researcher Stefanos Prouskas will be present to give a children's lecture on senses. Learn more about your senses and discover with experiments how your senses work! Be there on time, because full = full.
