From 16th October until 15th November, farmer artist Peng Zhang (Jiangxi, China, 1990) presents his new work in SEA Foundation’s vitrine. Zhang’s work brings the viewer into the rural village Shijian Cun where Zhang spent his childhood.
His memories are his treasures that offer opportunities to reconnect to the past that cannot be experienced anymore, but that can be recalled via Zhang’s artworks. They are the mementos of times when our activities were dictated by the rhythm of nature when we relied on our own abilities and the strength of community and shared the knowledge from generation to generation. Peng Zhang is the third artist to present his work in WARP, the new program with regional artists in the showcase of the SEA Foundation in Tilburg.
The exhibition is always visible from the street and can be viewed 24 hours a day without an appointment. The pilot project of 4 editions is supported by Mondriaan Fonds.
